Find a third-party payment processor that you can work with to accept credit card payments on your behalf. These services usually charge a small fee in the form of a percentage of the entire sale. Companies that you could use include PayPal, Authorize.net and Gotmerchant.com. All of these companies will provide you with basically the same service with a few variations on features. Look at the terms that each company provides when accepting credit card payments for you.

Sign up for an account with the company that you choose. Most of these companies will have an online form that you can fill out from their website. The company will then review your application and approve it if you meet their specific standards.

Install a shopping cart or a "buy now" button on your website with the code that is provided by your third-party processor. Most of these companies have premade forms or buttons that you can use to install on your website. You will simply have to choose the form or button that you want and then copy the code from the processor's website. Then you can paste the code into the page on your website that you want to sell your products on. When someone clicks on the form or button to pay, he will be taken to the third-party processor's website. After the payment is made, the customer will be directed back to your website. If the product is in digital format, you can give it to him immediately. If the product has to be shipped, you can provide him with shipping information.

Pay your fees to the third-party processing company. Many companies will simply take their fee out of each transaction that they process and give you the difference. Other companies will bill you through a monthly fee. You have to pay the third-party processor so that you can continue to accept credit cards on an ongoing basis.
