Anywhere Bed Vs. Aerobed

    Ease of Setup

    • Both the Anywhere Bed and AeroBed feature a fairly simple setup procedure. The AeroBed is a mattress only that is designed to be placed on the floor, so the only step aside from unpacking the mattress from its container is to hook up the electric air pump and inflate it to the desired firmness. The pump plugs into a standard wall jack and with the flip of a switch, your mattress is ready to dress and lie on within about a minute, according to the product's website Aerobed.com.
The Anywhere Bed has an electric pump as well and inflates in about the same amount of time. Additional time is required for the Anywhere Bed as it comes with a folding frame that gives this product more of a standard bed height and look. Still, the frame is easily assembled so it can be looked at as only a slight advantage or disadvantage in comparison.

    Comfort

    • Comfort is often the ultimate factor when choosing a bed to sleep on. Neither of these designs will provide the equivalent of comfort and support or stability of traditional mattresses but for guest visits, temporary use or for camping it isn't bad at all.
The AeroBed is probably going to have the advantage for most people in the comfort category, but it doesn't have much to do with the mattress itself. The frame on the Anywhere Bed may be desirable in that the person using it doesn't feel like she's sleeping on the floor, but it also doesn't feel as stable as the AeroBed does lying flat on the ground. Since air mattresses naturally have the problem of increased motion transfer because of a lack of internal elements to absorb the energy from tossing and turning, the Anywhere Bed adds the instability of a lightweight frame that could add to instability. Additionally the Anywhere Bed is only suitable for weights up to 225 pounds (single) and 450 pounds (double), according to the Body Impressions website. The AeroBed has no apparent weight limit.

    Size Selection

    • According to the AeroBed web site, the product is available in sizes ranging from a standard twin bed for children up to queen size while the Anywhere Bed is only available in single (twin) and double (full) sizes. Depending on your needs, the AeroBed could have the size advantage as well if you plan to use it for couples or taller sleepers.

    Compact Design

    • Each of the products has a compact design that makes it easy to carry wherever you go, but one feature seems to give Anywhere Bed the advantage. The Anywhere Bed comes with a pouch that will fit the deflated mattress as well as the pump and frame neatly.
The AeroBed comes with a backpack you can stuff the deflated mattress into if you purchase certain models such as the AeroSport Overnighter, but typically this is a boxed product with no easy to carry case.

    Features and Price

    • The Anywhere Bed includes an adjustable feature on the frame that will allow you to adjust either end of the bed into a reclined position as opposed to a flat mattress. The AeroBed does not have this ability, but the diverse selections including a sofa bed model designed with college students in mind are features not available by the other brand.
The Anywhere Bed is priced between $140 to $270 depending on size, while the AeroBed is priced around $60 for the overnighter model and $280 for the raised queen.
