How to Get Wrinkles Out of an Installed Pool Liner

    • 1). Drain your pool if it is filled with water. For the best results, always work in a clean, clear area. Getting wrinkles out of an installed pool liner while slowly refilling the pool will make this task easier.

    • 2). Place your rag over the end of the pool brush's handle and tighten the handle with duct tape and rubber bands. The purpose of using a rag is to cause less friction between the liner wall and the pool so tears do not occur.

    • 3). Turn your water hose on and set it inside of your pool. Wait until the water slowly fills your pool; the pool liner will automatically shift, which helps you move the liner more easily and does not take much force to remove the wrinkles.

    • 4). Push the vinyl lining gently around your pool. Never push inward; this will cause the pool liner to break. Push the pool liner upward and sideways to make adjustments and remove bubble pockets and wrinkles. Use your hands (if you are in your pool). Patiently watch the pool completely fill up, removing wrinkles as the water continues to rise.

    • 5). Remove any wrinkles once your pool is filled with water, using a plunger. Never use your plunger directly on a wrinkled area; this could easily tear the pool liner. Plunge above, below and to the side of the wrinkle so the liner can spread evenly, removing wrinkles without causing further damage to your installed pool liner.
