Swine Flu - Treatment

If you're adhering to the guidelines I suggest in my article on preventing the Swine Flu and, nonetheless, you contract it, the odds are extremely high that you will only undergo a minor case of the sickness.
Continue implementing the preventive measures I delineate in that article, but with the following modifications/additions:
  • Consult with your health care practitioner at the onset and throughout the course of the illness, letting him/her know of the measures you are taking to overcome the illness as well as how you are progressing.
  • In general, during your sickness, eat less than usual, only eating foods that you can digest easily, such as soup broths, fruit, etc.
Stay away from harder to digest grains, vegetables, fish and meat.
  • Drink gobs of water and other non-sweetened healthful beverages, such as herbal teas - especially ones that tend to reduce fever, if your fever starts going over 102 degrees Fahrenheit.
Herbs such as catnip, echinacea, hyssop combined with licorice root and thyme are examples of some good natural fever-reducers.
NOTE: In an adult, the level of fever generally reflects the severity of the illness causing it.
In a child, however, this is not necessarily the case.
A child with a mild cold may have a 105F fever, while a child with a serious illness - bacterial pneumonia, for example - may have only a 100F fever.
  • Up the dosage of the anti-cold/flu supplement(s) of your choice to the maximum suggested amount (see examples of suggested products below).
If your natural supplement is going to be effective for you, you should begin experiencing easing of flu symptoms within 12 to 24 hours.
If you don't, you may consider trying some other remedy.
  • If you feel anxious that you're not making sufficient progress toward recovery, don't hesitate to consult with your health care practitioner about your situation.
