How to Hook a Propane Tank to a Regulator
- 1). Remove the plug from the inside of the threaded propane tank valve.
- 2). Push the gas nozzle of the regulator into the opening of the threaded valve. Push the regulator nut up to the threads on the propane tank valve.
- 3). Turn the regulator nut counterclockwise to thread it onto the propane tank valve. Tighten the regulator nut with an adjustable wrench.
- 4). Open the propane tank valve. Pour leak-testing fluid over the connection between the regulator nut and the propane tank valve. Tighten the regulator nut if bubbles form around the connection.
- 5). Wipe the leak-testing fluid from the connection. Place the regulator protector cap -- if equipped -- over the regulator and tank valve.
