Giant Mosquitoes Are Invading

Mosquitoes are an issue every summer.
As far back as we can remember, mosquitoes and their irritating buzzing sound is something that happens without fail as the weather warms.
But it isn't just the average run of the mill mosquitoes that we have to worry about.
Not just diseases like West Nile Virus but even worse - there are new mosquito breeds that are bigger, stronger, more potent and they are taking over the average run-of-the-mill mosquitoes we have come to loathe.
Where did they come from? How did this happen? Freight and shipments coming in from other countries are the main culprit to transport these newfangled bloodsuckers to our shores.
Being mosquitoes, the breeding practices are exactly the same so if an environment can support domestic mosquitoes, it can breed newly introduced blood sucking monsters just as well.
Why are these stowaways a problem? In the first place, they disrupt the balance of the environment.
Having mutant species invade an ecosystem wreaks all kinds of havoc.
Granted, it is difficult to pinpoint a real reason for being protective of mosquitoes but they wouldn't be here if it weren't for some reason.
If species get bypassed or bumped aside, whatever their 'job' is gets circumvented too.
On a large scale, this can be horrendous.
Just ask a farmer in the South about kudzu and they'll give you a lengthy diatribe about the dangers of invasive species.
But on the level of a household and the everyday chores and experiences, a giant mosquito invading our lives definitely has consequences.
A much bigger mosquito creates a much bigger mosquito bite that I more annoying, takes longer to heal and offers that much more aggravation.
Definitely a big deal if you are a Mommy to young children.
Or if you are allergic to mosquito bites.
But the problems don't stop there - a more virile skeeter will be resistant to synthetic pesticides more readily.
It will mutate to more effectively carry diseases like West Nile Virus.
Take everything irritating about mosquitoes and amplify it.
Kind of like if these new mosquitoes are twice as big they are twice as much of a problem.
Three times as big, three times the issues.
So what is the solution? Well, it certainly isn't synthetic pesticides.
These new introductions will become pesticide resistant very quickly while the poisons continue to harm humans.
The only way to combat them is to use ingredients found in Nature.
These will have lasting effects, the blood suckers cannot become immune to them and people and the environment will not be harmed in the process.
Mosquitoes will be here every summer so make sure the ones you already know plus these new mutant monsters are kept at bay.
So control the mosquitoes and go back to enjoying your summer!
