How to Make a Baby Shower Favor Cake Boxes
- 1). Draw a triangle shape that you want to use for the box onto a piece of paper. Add rectangles on either side measuring about 2 to 3 inches high. Make a second triangle shape connected to one of the sides the same size as the original triangle. Add 1/2-inch tabs to the rectangles to make it easier to glue the triangles together.
- 2). Transfer the pattern to cardstock paper. Cut out as many slices as you want. Eight to nine slices make up a round layer cake.
- 3). Cut out the cake templates and fold the paper along all edges. Flip the sides of the box up and tuck in the tabs. Coat the tabs with glue from a glue stick and press the tabs onto the other sides of the box to make a 3-D cake slice. Leave one side of the box open.
- 4). Slide the favors into the box and glue the last side closed.
- 5). Decorate the cake slice using ribbons, buttons, flowers and other embellishments matching the baby shower theme. Use bears, trains, sports or animals for boys. Girls can have bugs, flowers, candy or other girly items. Use hot glue to hold the embellishments onto the cake slices.
