How to Make a Mini Coin Envelope
- 1). Measure the diameter of your coin and add about 1/8 inch to your measurement. This is how large the center of your envelope must be. Your coin will fit easily and snugly inside the envelope without tearing it.
- 2). Draw a square on your paper that matches the diameter of your coin plus the additional 1/8 inch. For instance, if your coin is 3/4 inches wide, you should draw a square 7/8 inches wide.
- 3). Turn your paper so your square now looks like a diamond. Draw a second square around this diamond, twice as large as your first square. In this case, you should end up with a 7/8 inch diamond shape inside a 1 3/4 inch wide square.
- 4). Cut out the larger square. Turn the paper so the smaller square looks like a square again and the larger square now looks like a diamond.
- 5). Fold the left, right and bottom corners of the larger square into the center of the smaller square, in that order. Squeeze a little glue onto the edges of the bottom corner before folding it up; press down to secure it.
- 6). Let the envelope dry for about two hours. Fold the top flap down to crease it and open it again. Slip your coin into the envelope and close the upper flap by sliding the point of the flap inside the envelope as well.
