    • 1). Set the four cinder blocks on the ground to form a square.

    • 2). Set the pet carrier up on top of the cinder blocks.

    • 3). Slide each of the four cinder blocks out to each of the four corners of the pet carrier. These blocks serve to elevate the pet carrier off the ground. Chickens feels safer up off the ground.

    • 4). Open the door of the pet carrier and cover the floor with two to four inches of wood shavings. This is the bedding. The poop will cling to these wood shavings making it easier to clean the pet carrier.

    • 5). Place the two 4-inch by 4-inch blocks inside the pet carrier. Set them about 12-inches apart. Turn each block so that they span the width of the pet carrier from side-to-side. These are the roosts. Leave enough room in front and behind the blocks for the food, water and nesting area.

    • 6). Set the chicken feeder and the chicken waterer just inside the door of the pet carrier on each side.

    • 7). Place a dummy wood or plastic egg in the back of the pet carrier to help the chickens establish a nesting area. The dummy egg will encourage them to lay where you want them to lay.
