Promoting Your Blog Everywhere
If you have a blog, you already know it can be tough work getting people to visit and read it.
Thankfully, I have all of you stopping by every week and discussing my interests with me, but not every blogger is so lucky.
So, I want to take a peek at some of the traffic boosting tactics that I and my fellow bloggers have been using - other than the standard social media, SEO fare.
The Basics No matter how boring it might seem or how tired you are of it, you need to do the basics on a daily basis.
Yeah, it's redundant - writing articles for the article directories or pumping out posts for Twitter and Facebook or asking other bloggers for back links to your site.
It's the kind of thing that can quickly grow old and boring, but if you don't do it, you'll never be able to take advantage of the high quality content on your site and tap into a torrent of regular traffic.
Going Beyond the Basics But, every now and then you might find yourself sitting there with spare time and nothing productive on your plate, but the ambition to add a few more followers or write a few more articles.
Here are some alternate blog promotion tactics I like to utilize when I run out of real work to do: •Commenting on Other Blog Posts •Posting to Comments that Allow RSS or Signature Links •Joining Groups and Blogging Communities like MyBlogLog •Writing Link Bait Articles to Get Fresh Traffic •Split Testing and Tweaking Your Page for Better Reading and Click Thru Rate •Chatting with Other Bloggers to Build a Reputation for What You Do As a marketer, your job is to stay busy and constantly find new things you can do to make a pretty penny with your blog.
That means finding new strategies on a rotating basis that will help your site excel with more traffic.
Obviously, this is only a small chunk of my spare time.
The kids see to that.
But, when I'm sitting at my computer, the house is quiet and there isn't anything pressing to work on just yet, I almost feel obliged to do a little extra work and land some additional traffic sources - how often do you get that kind of opportunity.
