It is extremely hard to differentiate a bed bug bite from other bug bites.

The bite from a bedbug will affect different people in different manners.
Sometimes they are barely noticeable.
Allergic Reactions When the bed bug bites you they secrete a small amount of a chemical that prevents your blood from clotting and numbs the immediate area.
Some people are more sensitive than others to this chemical.
Reactions range from not even noticing a bite to itchy bumps, swelling or redness.
In most cases the reactions are a nuisance rather than a health threat but if your reaction is more intense you need to seek the help of a doctor.
In a few people the bites have led to severe allergic reactions.
Stopping The Itch In most cases, the reactions are less severe.
While a bed bugs bite can itch like crazy, generally any anti-itch cream from your local drugstore will make it at least tolerable.
That won't however stop them from biting you again.
Stop The Biting The only sure way to stop bed bug biting is to kill the infestation.
While this takes a little effort the relief you'll feel when the bedbug is gone is well worth it.
Bedbugs can be killed even though it is more difficult than many other types of bugs.
If you use an exterminator make sure that they are experienced with solving this problem.
A bed bug bite can be painful and irritating, but you can get rid of them whether with an exterminator or on your own.
