    Super Scribblenauts

    • This off-the-wall, part puzzle, part platform game for the Nintendo DS ingeniously combines spelling and vocabulary skills with high octane and bizarre challenges. Using the DS stylus, players must generate objects by writing a combination of nouns and adjectives. They then use these objects to solve puzzles, overcome monsters and find the way to the end of the level. It's for children 10 years old and up.

    LEGO Harry Potter

    • Continuing in the series of LEGO games produced by Warner Brothers, LEGO Harry Potter pitches players into the world of Hogwarts at the speed of a broomstick. Incorporating all the elements from the books, players can learn spells, dabble in potion brewing and fly along on the back of a broomstick. This uses the humor and lightness of touch typical of the LEGO games. It is suitable for 10-year-olds and older and available on all consoles.

Sesame Street: Cookie's Counting Carnival & Elmo's A to Zoo Adventure

    • These two games, from a long established children's favorite, offer fun and colorful ways to develop literacy and numeracy for preschool children. Available for Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and PC, these games are perhaps a little complicated for younger children to play on their own but provide a nice activity for adults and children to do together.

    Scooby-Doo and the Spooky Swamp

    • In this game for the Nintendo DS and Wii, pick any one of your favorite members of Mystery Inc. to take you through the adventures of the Spooky Swamp. A combination of platform adventure and puzzle solving game, Scooby-Doo and the Spooky Swamp features co-operative play and a collection of gadgets which help Scooby and friends solve their latest case.
