Over a period of time baby shower favors have changed. Although the traditional element still holds strong, the modern day celebrations have become more fun. Today it has the strapping of an important personal event, much like the wedding itself.
Expectant father is now an integral part of the fun. Ever since it has been known medically that the unborn child not only reacts to the mother but to the father also-his role is no longer restricted to pregnancy. The entry of the father into this phase of life is critical. With women having full time jobs, it is amazing how much less time they have for such a joyous time. But a well themed baby shower is a pleasant way to reconnect with family and friends. Now even the games and menu and favors have changed.

Whether it is expectant mom or her friend who is planning simple inexpensive goodies can do the trick. One of the most popular trends today is to use aroma oils and natural soaps. So here is a simple idea. There are several stores that give little hampers of oil, soap, bath salts and creams. Buy them in bulk according to the number of guests. Get a couple of extra hampers too. Maybe there will be a surprise invitee dropping in last minute. Bring along some lovely wrapping paper and pink and blue ribbons. And two days before the shower make a basket and keep them ready. The advantage of this gift is that even if some are left, they can always be used later.
Yet another easy idea is to make a large toffee wrap. It will have different candy, chocolates, licorice, gems, or even lollipops. They are easy to carry after the party.
If the mother is known for her baking skills, it would be a splendid thought to make fresh cupcakes with baby decorations. And they can be given away when the guests are leaving.
These days health conscious guests would love the idea of having something nutritious. How about making a gift hamper of dry fruits, or organic flavored teas, or even low calorie cakes?
