How to Make a Magnolia Leaf Centerpiece
- 1). Look for an evenly rounded pumpkin with minimal blemishes for use as your centerpiece container holder. Slice off the top and make an opening large enough to hold your vase. Scoop out the seeds and the pulp inside as you hollow out the pumpkin.
- 2). Place a glass vase inside the pumpkin with a ½-inch space all around the vase. Cut some flowering branches from a magnolia tree and remove the leaves. Place the cuttings into the vase and arrange the blossoms into a pleasing design.
- 3). Gather the magnolia leaves and slip the leaves into the space between the vase and the pumpkin. Surround the top of the vase with the magnolia leaves as they soften the line from the pumpkin to the flowers and blend the colors between the the two.
- 4). Arrange the magnolia leaves on the table into a ring a little larger than the size of the pumpkin. Double layer the magnolia leaves to add thickness to the ring. Center the pumpkin on the top of the ring of magnolia leaves.
- 5). Find smaller magnolia leaves and place them into a small clear glass candle holder. Center a candle inside the leaves and secure the leaves around it. Follow the procedure to make several candle holders. Once completed, finish the magnolia leaf centerpiece by placing the candles around the pumpkin.
