How to Trim a Bulldog
- 1). Start to massage the dog's head by rubbing its ears in a circular motion. Continue by slowly moving down to the dog's body. Massaging the dog before the trim will relax the bulldog. Feel the body for relaxed muscles.
- 2). Hold the dog's head in your hand by the bottom of the jaw.
- 3). Hold the blunt-nosed grooming scissors flat against the dog's face about an inch out from the dog's skin.
- 4). Cut off long whiskers on the chin or face moving slowly across the face to avoid cutting the dog's skin.
- 5). Run your hand over the dog's face to feel if you missed any whiskers. Whiskers are stronger and harder than the dog's normal hair.
- 6). Praise the dog for behaving. Consider treats or play as a reward.
