When Building My Dad’S Game Room With Furniture Like Bar Stools, San Antonio Is Where I Shopped
If you have been reading my articles, then you already know how much I love designing game rooms for my friends and clients. This time, however, the person I was designing for qualified for both of those categories. I'm talking about my Dad. He wished to cut the cake on his 50th birthday in his very own game room. I was more than happy to help, since it meant he'd be home on Friday nights, which were previously spent in a bar with his beer buddies. Now, I simply had to make sure the game room had a well-stocked mini bar with a few bar stools. San Antonio has quite a few dealers of game room furniture; so, I had no doubt that I would be able to get my hands on a few of those.
Getting the bar stools was obviously the first step
The first thing I did was to take Dad across downtown San Antonio, stopping at major retailer stores of furniture. We had to shop for bar stools, followed by home theater seating. San Antonio based dealers ensured that we got everything we needed within a couple of hours. Dad appreciated my choice when I picked up a set of bar stools with stainless steel frames and mahogany upholstery. These would look great next to the mini bar at home, which we had painted mahogany a few months ago. What I loved the most was the sheer number of choices we got. Seriously, when it comes to shopping for game room furniture in Texas, bar stools are best bought from one of the dealers in San Antonio.
Getting pool cues were also of high priority to my Dad
Before we signed the check, Dad said that he would like to pick up a few pool cues as well, since his set of cues at home was mostly worn out. Well, my old man still plays like a pro, so letting him choose the ones he would be using was the logical step. After looking around for about half an hour, Dad finally decided on a set of pool cues. San Antonio based dealers have cues of almost all major brands in stock; this was a blessing for us. The home theater seating we chose had microfiber upholstery, which meant those would be easy to clean.
As far as accessories go, there were only two things we really needed - a set of coasters and a cigarette lighter. However, Dad also wanted a dart board. Fair enough! I'd believe that in all the years he was working at Wall Street, he must have come across people he would love to hate. I almost expect to see someone's photo pasted on the dart board someday, with multiple darts stuck on it. Anyway, now that the shopping was over, there was the task of setting up Dad's game room. It was going to be a birthday he would be sure to remember, for years to come. I can't wait to photograph him with his favorite beer mug in hand, sitting on one of these high quality bar stools. San Antonio based dealers deserve the thanks for that, though.
