    Vegetables With Salicylic Acid

    • Green peppers, olives, champignon, mushrooms, chicory, tomatoes and radishes contain high amounts of salicylic acid. Alfalfa, broccoli, cucumber, fava beans, spinach and sweet potato do as well. Canned asparagus and canned olives, lettuce, marrow, pumpkin, and snow peas have moderate amounts. Fresh asparagus, cauliflower and onions have very little traces of salicylic acids.

    Fruits With Salicylic Acid

    • Food Info. also labels its fruits by amount of acid. Apricots, blackberries, blueberries, cantaloupe, dates, guava, raisins, Granny Smith apples, avocados, red cherries, red grapes, mandarin and tangelo all have high amounts of salicylic acid. Grape juice, kiwi, lychee, loquat, nectarine, plum and watermelon have moderate traces. Fruits with very low amounts of this acid are: gold and red delicious apples, sour cherries, green grapes, lemon, mango and passion fruit.

    Nuts, Seeds and Seasoning With Salicylic Acid

    • Almonds, pecans, pine nuts, macademias and pistachios have high levels of salicylic acid. Coconuts and Brazil nuts have moderate amounts, while pecans, sesame seeds, hazelnuts, and sunflower seeds have low amounts. Peanut butter also has a low amount. Canella, cummin, curry powder, dill, oregano, paprika, rosemary, thyme, turmeric, mustard and vegemite are on the higher scale of salicylic acid. Fennel, vinnegar, saffron and soy sauce have low grades of the this acid.
