How to Install a Toolbox in a Truck Bed
- 1). Place the toolbox in the location where you want to secure it. Keep in mind the door of the toolbox and how it opens so it does not interfere with the rear window or the front bed rail. If you do not have a bed liner that covers the bed rails, you might consider some rubber pads between the toolbox and bed rail to protect the paint of the bed rail.
- 2). Remove the hardware from inside the toolbox. There should be 4 J-bolts, 4 washers, 4 nuts, 4 rubber plug inserts and a set of keys.
- 3). Insert the rubber plugs into the predrilled holes of the toolbox.
- 4). Insert the first J-bolt hook under the bed rail and into the hole of the rubber plug insert of the toolbox. Apply the washer and nut and tighten with the ratchet and socket. Continue the same procedure with the remaining J-bolts.
