How to Add Chlorine to My Cloudy Pool
- 1). Test the chlorine level in your pool water using a pool water testing kit that includes a chlorine test.
- 2). Check the test results. If your pool has less than 1 ppm chlorine, add chlorine to the pool.
- 3). Retest the chlorine level in your pool water two hours after adding chlorine. If the level is still below 1 ppm, add more chlorine to the pool and repeat this step two hours later. Repeat this step until the chlorine level is between 1 and 3 ppm.
- 4). Test the chlorine level in your pool daily to gauge how quickly and how often the chlorine level drops.
- 5). Add chlorine to the water based on how quickly the chlorine level drops. Use a chlorine generator or chlorine tablets to avoid having to constantly add chlorine to the pool.
