Healing One Self
After spending many years, like a lot of Americans in today's society in stressful occupations, it began to take it's toll.
After that period of time passed, I felt as though I was completely burned out, I no longer had a desire to participate in today's world, I felt like just coasting through life.
I never realized it at the time, I was still rather active for my age, and assumed what I was feeling was just a result of getting older.
I didn't feel sick, just not as ambitious as I once was.
As I approached seventy, it seemed to get worse, and although when I went for a check up nothing showed up as if there was anything wrong with my health, I just needed more sleep and the slightest stress completely wore me out.
On day my chiropractor mentioned something about adrenal fatigue, something I had never heard of.
He explained that when people lead stressful lives, the adrenals are continuously pumping out adrenaline to compensate.
The adrenals control every function in our body and can become overworked.
With the stresses in today's world, where there is always some kind of crisis, sooner or later the adrenals rebel and just won't supply all the adrenaline that is needed to maintain our bodies in a normal manner.
Soon we begin to feel tired, aches and pains begin to surface and other physical symptoms can appear.
It can happen gradually, so many times we never even notice we aren't feeling good, and there are no acute symptoms, so what's to worry? On our chiropractor's recommendation, we stopped at the health food store and bought some adrenal support pills on the way home.
I figured it couldn't hurt anything and they were only twenty bucks.
It was the first of December, so it was time to put up the Christmas decorations.
After taking two of the pills, I headed out the door to perform my duties.
Much to my surprise, twenty minutes later, I began to feel much better! It was almost instantly, I could feel my legs and body begin to change, the tiredness I didn't even know I had was disappearing, soon I was feeling better than I had for 30 years, more energy, no subtle pain in my back and legs, it seemed my sinuses and allergies were even getting better.
I never realized how bad I had felt the last several years, I began to feel like I had the energy of a thirty year old, procrastination went out the window.
I now have the energy to do many things I have been wanting to do for years, but never seemed to find the time.
So much for doctors, it's time we decided to chart our own course and determine what measures we need to take to take care of our own health and not let some bureaucrat in Washington do it.
