How to Remove Toggle Bolts
- 1). Put on safety glasses.
- 2). Secure a #2 Phillips head adapter into the chuck of a drill motor.
- 3). Set the direction of the drill to counterclockwise and slightly loosen the toggle bolt. You will notice the bolt head will continue to spin, and the head will only move slightly off the surface of the wall.
- 4). Adjust the self-locking pliers so the opening in the jaws is larger than the threaded section of the toggle bolt but smaller than the bolt's head.
- 5). Position the self-locking pliers behind the head of the toggle bolt and pull the pliers toward you, as you continue to loosen the toggle bolt with the #2 Phillips head adapter, until the spring nut drops inside of the wall.
- 6). Discard the toggle bolt if you do not intend to reuse it.
