Villa Holiday in Brittany

Fancy a summer villa  holiday in Brittany.
There are a  huge choice of villas  such as the villa Plovan which is available  this summer.
A typical Breton style,  it is just 150m from kilometres of unspoilt sandy beaches in SW Brittany.
Just a short drive from Roscoff or St Malo and you enter another world.
It is like someone put the clocks back to a slower pace of life where food tastes like it did when you were a child and you can escape the bustle of modern life in the UK.
This house has 5 bedrooms sleeps 10 and even its own enclosed, child secure, swimming pool.
If you want to explore the area take a trip to the famous Pointe du Raz, or visit the Cathedral at Quimper.
The town of Plovan is close by so you can have plenty of opportunities to brush up on the old French.
Or just buy some wine and sit back and watch the sunset over the ocean - right in front of you..
In years gone by Brittany was a real favourite with the Brits for motoring holidays.
It is now perhaps more fashionable to fly down to Sharm or the Dominican republic but there is something very special about Brittany.
Its great to just pile into the car and Bon Voyage.
Of course if you fancy going further there are plenty of other villa choices you can pick from.
Provence, Languedoc Rousillon or Aquitain are favourites in France or you can venture further to Spain, Italy or even Croatia.
One of the real advantages of the self catering holiday is that you are totally free to do what you want when you want.
There are no regimented meal times or couriers telling you about the recommended excursions.
Holiday hotels can be a real nightmare and not at all condusive to a relaxing vacation.
Conversley villa holidays allow you a freedom that is hard to match.
It is even possible to arrange for a femme de menage ( cleaner ) or a cook in many cases.
This you can get the best of both worlds.
If you are going to take a holiday in Brittany it is best to start looking early in the year since  it is unwise to leave it until the very last minute.
The supply of villas that are free in the school holidays is actually outweighed by the demand.
This is particularly true if you are looking for a house that is within walking distance of the beach.
And even more so if you want your own pool which is a bit like gold dust in the high season.
For a slightly different location why not try the Loire Atlantique.
I have a good friend who has the most delightful house in the seaside town of St Marc which is just south of La Baule.
This house has beautiful lawn gardens and an inviting swimming pool.
  Bon Voyage! Alan Kerr
