People with a passion for the underwater world will no doubt jump at the chance to explore some of the spectacular coastal scenery hidden beneath the waves in Cornwall.
In May this year, Dive Fest will take over Pentewan Sands for one weekend at the beginning of the month, offering both experienced divers and those new to the sport a chance to get wet while on a Cornish holiday.
Underwater photographers may be particularly keen to head to Dive Fest because of the day-long competition held in the waters off of the southern Cornish coast.
Each year, both amateur and professional photographers venture beneath the waves hoping to bring back the winning image.
With a wide range of marine life native to the Cornish coast, as well as fellow divers, wrecks and striking underwater scenery as your subjects, you will probably snap an image to remind you of a great weekend, if not to win the event.
If you've never tried photography beneath the waves before then this could be the perfect place to start, because there will be a host of experts and other divers on hand to ask for advice.
In addition to the Splash In photography competition, an exhibition of entries into the British Underwater Image Festival will also be on display, with the winners of this prestigious contest announced over the course of the weekend.
On the other hand, if you are staying in Cornwall holiday cottages and have never dived before, then you could take the plunge during the weekend.
A swimming pool staffed by fully qualified instructors is available to offer try dives to those who have never donned scuba gear before.
If your first taste of this exciting sport proves addictive, then you could book onto a full course with any number of the scuba diving schools from up and down the country which attend Dive Fest each year.
Although all the action definitely has an aquatic feel, there is still plenty to do back on dry land.
In the evenings, once everyone has rinsed the salt from their hair, divers can get together to talk about their experiences, share stories and photos and get to know some of the like-minded people from other parts of the UK.
Whether you'd prefer to sit in a corner and talk into the small hours or dance the night away with a beer in your hand, there will be entertainment and newfound friends to keep you busy all night.
Once the Dive Fest is over, you can always return to your self catering holiday cottage in Cornwall for a few days of relaxation on one of Cornwall's many beaches or explore some of the neighbouring seaside towns.
