Is Synthetic Collagen Tissue the Answer For You?

Scientists at the University of Wisconsin-Madison have finally unlocked the secret to creating synthetic collagen that is an exact match for human tissue.
While this discovery is primarily designed to help us get away from the use of animal derived tissue for medical procedures, the question of can the substance be used for collagen injections has inevitably come up.
Don't expect this substance to be available to you anytime soon though.
Collagen is used medically for a number of different purposes, but is primary used as artificial skin in the case of severe burns.
It is also utilized for the reconstruction of bone, and it is widely used for surgical, orthodontic, and dental repairs.
Most of the collagen currently used in medical procedures comes from bovine, equine, porcine, and infrequently even human sources.
Due to the fact that there is a great chance of allergic reaction when using animal derived collagen, scientists have been seeking to create synthetic collagen for decades.
There is an alternative to animal derived collagen already available, which is derived fro cadavers and placenta, but it is incredibly expensive and therefore not widely used.
This alternative is not in demand for cosmetics procedures.
The reason that so many people are interested in the cosmetic applications of the newly created connective tissue is of course to replace the tissue that they have lost due to declining production.
It is also because the animal derived collagen widely used in topical skin care formulas cannot penetrate the skin, but human collagen is just as molecularly dense, and therefore equally useless for topical application.
The only way to get foreign connective tissue to where you need it is through subjecting yourself to collagen injections.
These treatments are effective in helping you to reduce wrinkles, but the animal derived tissue is swiftly broken down by the body, so follow-up visits to the initial procedure are likely required.
These treatments are not exactly cheap.
Instead of worrying about synthetic collagen, you should be looking into the protein compound Functional Keratin, which has been clinically proven to cause a tremendous increase in the amount of collagen and elastin your body produces.
Functional Keratin is the safest and most effective way to increase the connective tissue content of your skin.
