How to Find the Right Glasses for Your Face

1

To determine what kind of face shape you have, pull your hair away from your face and look straight ahead into a mirror.
2

If your face is more or less as wide as it is long and you have a rounded chin then your face shape is round. The most flattering frames for a round face are wide rectangular or geometric ones.
3

If your face is about one and a half times longer than it is wide then you have an oval-shaped face. Oval faces are considered balanced with a slim forehead and jaw but high cheekbones. Almost any frame shape will pair up nicely with an oval face but start by looking at rectangular or butterfly ones to offset your cheekbones and smoothness of face shape.

A heart-shaped face is characterized by a wide forehead and cheekbones that slims down to a pointed chin. Heart-shaped faces are complemented most by butterfly or cat-eye styles. Rounded frames are also a good option because they offset the wider forehead. Likewise, frames that are wider at the top than at the bottom will do the same for the narrow chin.
5

Square faces are similar to round in that they are about as wide as they are long but the shape has harder angles. The forehead is wide and the jaw-line appears strong and squared off. Round frames are perfect for you, if you have this shape. Cat-eye and oval frames also help to soften the angles in a square face.
