Brewing your own beer can be both fun and challenging.
It can allow you to make some great home brew and impress your friends.
The process of brewing beer at home can be as simple or as complex as you want to make it.
Following are a few simple tips to brewing excellent quality beer.
Tips: Be Clean - This is the most important step in the entire process.
I recommend that you boil whatever you are going to use to make sure it is properly sanitized.
Time - This hobby is a process that must be dealt with some patience.
You need to let your malt stand for at least one hour before mashing it in.
When boiling, allow it to reach a vigorous boil for no less than 20 minutes.
Temperature - You want to make sure the temperature of the mash is around 155 degrees Fahrenheit or you risk making the wrong type of sugars and it will not ferment properly.
Steps: (The Simple Plan) Step 1 - Boil Your Malt Begin by mixing your malt, water and desired hops or other form of sugar such as honey or fruit.
Allow to boil vigorously for at least 20 minutes.
Step 2 - Cool the mixture in step one following the tips listed above.
Once you have it at the proper temperature, add your package of brewing yeast.
The yeast will work the sugars in the mixture over the next week or so and ultimately create your alcohol.
Step 3 - After this week long period of letting it "work off" you will bottle your fermented beer into separate bottles.
You also need to add a little bit of priming sugar to kick start the carbonation of your home brew.
In just one more week, you will have your first batch of home brewed beer ready for the consumption.
