DIY Mosquito Netting for a Bed
- 1). Affix a large eye hook to the ceiling over the center of your bed. Snap a double-ended snap to the eye hook, and clip a 4-inch diameter ring to the bottom end of the snap.
- 2). Feed one edge of the mosquito netting through the large ring, and pull the fabric through until you have an even amount on both sides of the ring. Place a dark line in the fabric centered over the ring to mark the middle of the fabric. Step off the bed and tug the fabric down each corner of the mattress to completely enclose the bed.
- 3). Pull the fabric from the ring, and spread the center of the material over the table. Place a mark 4 inches down from the center mark on the left and right outside edge of the fabric, and affix a 6-inch piece of ribbon to each mark with a hot-glue gun. Press down on the ribbon until the glue cools and sets.
- 4). Measure down 4 inches from the first mark, and attach another ribbon to each side of the netting. Continue gluing ribbons every 4 inches down the entire length of the netting. These short ribbons serve as ties to draw the sides of the netting together and keep mosquitoes from invading your bed.
- 5). Hang the netting back up through the ring once the ribbons are securely glued to the netting. Even the netting out around the bed and tie the sides together to encase the bed. Spray the netting from ceiling to floor with mosquito repellent, and lift one corner of the netting to enter and exit the bed.
