2 Simple Steps to Article Marketing Failure

When article writing, foremost in your mind are the top article directories and those back links.
After all, that's the whole purpose of the exercise, isn't it? Wrong! What should be foremost in your mind when intending to submit your article is will anyone want to read it and will any other publisher want to publish it.
Ignore that fact and you're about to take the following two steps to failure.
STEP 1: Sacrificing Quality for Benefits So you sit down and write and your only article submission strategy is simply to grab as many back links to your site as possible and everything's fine.
It is until some directories decline your work over article submission guideline issues or lack of quality, or both.
The only guarantee in all this is if your article submission doesn't get published no one will see your work.
The benefits of producing a quality article are therefore twofold: It is more likely to get published and therefore read, but not only that other publishers could pick it up and literally double your submissions overnight and consequently, your promotional opportunities will burgeon beyond your wildest dreams.
So the first step to remember is that while the top article directories and their back links galvanize you into writing articles in the first place, the only thought in your mind when actually writing each article must be to gear it towards the reader.
People want to be informed, to be advised.
They may want a problem solved.
They must want to read your article.
When you achieve this only then will the benefits follow.
Articles of substance will always rule.
Ignore this at your peril.
STEP 2: Failing to Maximize Promotional Opportunities Although I'm sure you're aware of the fact that article writing generates links back to your site, but failing to recognize, and therefore maximize the fact that article marketing can generate more visitors and better search engine results, is tantamount to trying to fire an empty gun.
Yes, keywords are important, but don't overdo them.
Anchor texts are also effective, but are dependent on the guidelines of each individual article directory.
Back linking is important, but then so is the viral factor.
Getting publishers with large audiences to pick up your articles will spread not only your links, but will enhance your reputation, which in turn will entice more publishers and you will begin leveraging other brands because of the quality of your work.
On top of that search engine optimization will naturally increase following this upsurge in population.
But this will only happen if your article has something to offer publishers in the beginning, or more importantly, their readers.
So put all your effort into making sure your article answers a specific need and is unique in answering it.
