Purchasing Your Pool Cover

• 1). Measure your swimming pool (both ways if it is not round) and write these measurements down. Take them with you when you go to the store to purchase your pool cover. The solar pool cover should fit inside the walls of your pool and sit directly on top of the water.
  
  
• 2). Spread the pool cover out over the water in your pool, bubble side down. Do not place the cover over the sidewall of the pool as this could allow wind to get under the cover and blow it away. Leave the pool cover on for a few hours in the sun so that the wrinkles and folds can disappear.
  
  
• 3). Once all of the wrinkles and folds have disappeared, you should have a nice, flat pool cover. You may need to trim your cover, slightly, if it does not fit exactly. Use regular scissors and be careful not to puncture it. The solar pool cover should cover all of the water and sit snugly, just inside the edge of your pool.
  
  
• 4). To remove the pool cover for swimming, there are a couple of options. You can simply pull the cover off each time, folding it neatly and storing it out of the way. Or, you can purchase a reel and crank which will allow you to turn the crank and roll up the pool cover. These cranks can be portable, so that you can just roll it out of the way or they can be permanently attached to your pool.
