People being promoted to manager may need to relocate to a store where an opening is available. McDonald's has a thorough training program for managers that focuses on successful team building, employee management and business panning. Most managers start as counter employees, but promotions can happen quickly in the right circumstance.

Paid vacation, 401k savings plans and flexible scheduling can help you manage your life outside of work. The health care benefits may be useful to your spouse and children as well.

    Educational Assistance

    • McDonald's offers employees educational assistance. Those interested can apply for the program through their restaurant once they are a hired employee. The company also gives one employee in each state a $2,500 college scholarship every year for student employees who show a commitment to community service. The three strongest applicants receive a $5,000 scholarship.

McDonald's supports education in other ways, too. According to the McDonald's website, the founder of McDonald's, Ray Kroc, said, "If we are going to go anywhere, we've got to have talent. And, I'm going to put my money in talent." He founded Hamburger University, a school that educates and trains managers, as well as other employees.
