the common areas like living rooms and patios . Glass is easy to mould, you can cut it in different shapes, add colour and use it innovatively. For example, we have designed a glass wall that goes frosted on the click of a button thereby creating a dead wall." How popular is glass in the Indian market? Architect Milind Pai says, "The trend has now caught the common man's imagination especially as this medium is very neutral and flexible in style as per the way it is used. The material is equally adaptable for the modern minimal to classical to fusion themes."

Throwing light on some unique ways of using glass in the house, Pai adds, "Glass can be used for furniture, wall cladding, shutters, partitions, wall-effects, lighting zones, mirrors for utility and also for space, table tops, wash basins, counters, even floorings and steps of staircase, staircase railings, handles, balcony railings, even supports in furniture where used vertically, backlight lighting in walls and ceilings."
