There are a number of occasions that a wine picnic basket would be great as a gift. If someone new moves in next door, or a couple you know is getting engaged these are perfect examples of a situation where you could give one to them. When you make yours you have to start by picking out the best basket. There are so many to choose from so take your time and find the one that fits the occasions the best.

After you find the nicest basket for the gift then you will have to choose a wine. If you thought there were a lot of those to pick from then wait until you see how many different brands you get to choose from. Your not done yet, you don't just send a gift with wine and a few snacks. You will need to find a nice blanket to put in it. Do not forget to add a corkscrew and nice glasses. You should also include napkins. You can add other things too depending on what occasion it is for. If you are giving it to a new neighbor you might want to think about putting a casserole in it so the neighbors wont have to cook for themselves.

If you are giving one to an older couple for a birthday gift then you may want to add in a little birthday cake and you could even put a balloon on it. If the gift is going to your spouse then you may want to spice it up a bit by putting lingerie into the one you give them.

The negligee is also a great gift idea for newly weds. Be sure to put in some scented candles and rose petals. There are endless possibilities for as to the things you can add to these gift baskets. You can even make one for yourself for a first date. Make one for the two of you to take on your first date.

Add a good wine and maybe some strawberries covered in chocolate and some exotic cheeses. You should also find a nice blanket for you both to share. These are wonderful gifts for happy occasions however they can work for somber occasions too.

When someone passes away it is nice to bring something to the widow. Most widows would appreciate a wine picnic basket. You could even add two bottles of wine if you want, plus some bubble bath. Scented candles and chocolates are also a good idea. A box of Kleenex is also a good idea because most widows need them especially when they are drinking alcohol in a bubble bath alone.
