How to Take Out RAM From a PC
- 1). Shut down your computer.
- 2). Remove the side panel, according to user manual instructions.
- 3). Put on the anti-static wrist strap and touch a metal object to ground yourself.
- 4). Locate the RAM modules. These are usually set in parallel white slots and held in place with clips on either side. Press these clips to loosen the card.
- 5). Grasp the card by the edges and pull it free.
- 6). Put the side panel back on the computer.
- 1). Shut down your laptop and remove the battery after it has cooled.
- 2). Turn the laptop over and look for the RAM compartment cover. Consult your laptop's user manual to determine the location if necessary.
- 3). Press the spring latches in to loosen the RAM card. It should pop loose at an angle.
- 4). Lift the card away from its slot and gently pull it free by grasping the edges. Avoid bending the card; you could break the connector.
- 5). Replace the RAM compartment cover. Replace the battery.
