The state of Arizona certifies educators in grades Pre-K to 12. Requirements for certification differ based on the type of certificate being sought, but all certificates require an approved program of study, particularly for first-time educators. The State Board has designated some teacher preparation programs in the state as approved and a candidate gains Arizona certification upon successful completion of one of those programs. - The Mary Lou Fulton Institute and Graduate School of Education offers Master's Degree programs in a variety of concentrations including elementary education, special education and subject-specific programs for those who wish to teach at the secondary level. The school also offers certificate programs in education technology and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
