Faith - The Invisible!
2 CORINTHIANS 4: 16 - 18 "Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.
For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
" Now, Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.
(Hebrews 11:1 - 2) NOW MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS...
What (if I may ask) made the wall of Jericho, Goliath the giant, the Red Sea, the Egyptians etc disappear? It is Faith in, plus action on God's word! The invisible and unseen but spoken Word of God took them out of the way! As soon as God's people stopped seeing them and started seeing God's word, these were seen no more, forever! "Heaven and earth" (the seen things) will pass away," said Jesus in Luke 21:33.
Thus and hence, believe it strongly; anything that is seen, is temporary! They are the fake beauties of the world which just cover the beast that is inside the world! DO NOT LOOK AT THEM! Look to God's word (the unseen) which is yes and amen.
It will by no means pass away.
It must be fulfilled for God has everything it takes to ensure that His words will surely never return to Him void.
So LOOK AT IT! Can you see the 'weight of the glory' in that light affliction? Look for it and at it, not the affliction! Many say "seeing is believing" and that is why they still see walls, giants, mountains, the Red Sea and the Egyptians pursuing them, and because they believe it, they exist and stand strong for them! They like Thomas Didymus, see these 'SEEN' things and cannot see the 'UNSEEN' glory, grace, love, and power of God which surrounds them.
They are or become those who say (both in their heart and with their mouth), "Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into it and put my hand into His sides, I will not believe.
" And to such I say "SORRY"; for God has hidden these things for only those who can have (develop) the eyes of faith to see! Thomas had believed Jesus when (and because) He was alive and 'seen'! After His crucifixion, Jesus became in Thomas' heart and eyes as dead.
He was no more " a seen personality".
Because Thomas believed and preferred the seen he did not want to see ANYTHING but the seen, so he could not see Jesus even in the place they were together, until Jesus spoke.
Did he receive the blessing of being clothed with the grace and ability to demonstrate and partake of the Resurrection power? Find out in John 20:26-29! The results of his ministry, against those of the other apostles are evident.
Followership without the blessing amounts to nothing! Many, like him, want to see and touch the nail prints on Jesus' hands and feet and the pierced sides first, before believing the Word and Promise of God! We don't talk about proofs but about evidences of the things not seen! So we talk about F-A-I-T-H! Many believe with their mouth but their heart is full of Unbelief and doubt; serious robbers of God's blessings and which do relocate people from God's Unseen presence and glory into "hiding" among trees, grass and flowers - the 'seen lush & posh things' which will wither and fade away; exposing men's nakedness.
You are covered by God's unseen glory.
Look at it! PERSONAL CONFESSION: Lord, open my eyes to behold your glory and wondrous things out of your word; teach my mouth to speak right, and to declare God's praise!
