What cat doesn't have a fatuation with cardboard boxes? The designers of Kitty Concepts took this fascination a step further, by blending a design reflecting our cats' long relationship with the ancient cats of Egypt. Your cat is probably already considered "royalty" in your home. Now you can honor that title by giving him his very own Purr-Amid, modeled after the Great Pyrimid of Giza.
Assembly Is a Breeze
The Purr-Amid arrived safely as a large, flat piece of cardboard, with clear assembly instructions. In no time at all, I had set up the Purr-Amid and installed the included felt mat which is removable. As promised, no tools were needed; just my hands.
In no time at all, Jaspurr, our alpha cat, had claimed his rightful territory inside, while Billy waited for his turn.
Billy Proclaims, "It's Mine, All Mine!"
Billy, who has always fancied himself as royalty, soon established ownership of the Purr-Amid. Although the condo is large enough for two small cats or a number of kittens, it really was designed for one full-grown cat. I foresee at least another Purr-Amid in our future, to allow our other cats their chance at royalty.
Sturdy and Well-Constructed
Although it is constructed of cardboard, the Purr-Amid is amazingly sturdy, and I anticipate a life span for it of at least a few years. It stands 23 inches square at the base and 19 1/2 inches tall at its peak, and the attractive Egyptian decor around the base and over the door give it a cachet that will please even the most discriminating decorator.
There are two important caveats to keep in mind:
- The Purr-Amid is not waterproof, and should not be used outside.
- Once assembled, it can not be de-assembled without permanent damage.
I recommend the Purr-Amid for anyone on a budget, who wants to honor their cat with his own comfortable condo.
