Set your iron to the cotton setting and let it warm up. - 2). Place the hardcover book on a flat work surface and cover with plain paper. The book that you use should be able to fit inside the wooden frame of your canvas, and it should be thicker than the width of the frame as well.
- 3). Position the canvas over the book so the surface of the canvas is flat against the paper-covered book.
- 4). Lay your iron-on transfer picture face down wherever you'd like on your painted canvas. Cover the back of your iron-on with a plain piece of paper. This is to protect the painted canvas when you're ironing.
- 5). Apply even pressure with your iron over the iron-on image. Do not slide the iron.
- 6). Hold the iron down on the image and lift a corner up to check if the transfer is working. This will hold the image in place while still allowing you to check your work.
- 7). Continue ironing by lifting and pressing until the entire image has been transferred.
