I have been an eclectic witch for as long as I remember.
I've always had a love for the esoteric and metaphysical.
My favorite ancient Deities are the Greek Gods and the Norse Gods.
I have called upon the Powers of Aphrodite and Freya many times.
During my evocations, I have learned that each of us has the spark inside of us that connect us to the Gods.
It is a gift to all of us, including all animals and plants.
Every thing on Earth contains this spark.
It is what connects the world to the Higher Realms.
Many human women are not happy with their looks.
We have all looked in the mirror a few times in our lives and saw something we did not like.
Some of us are harder on ourselves than we should be.
I can tell you about a dream I had of Freya many years ago.
She came to me looking nothing like what one would expect from a beautiful, beloved Goddess.
She was actually what many of us would consider "plain".
She wanted me to realize that what we humans consider "beautiful" isn't always what the rest of the Universe considers beautiful.
We shouldn't rely on any one other than ourselves to define the word "beauty" for us.
Every woman has a spark of the Goddess inside of her, and that is all the beauty we need.
So here is a short chant for women to say every time they look in the mirror, especially before going out to face the world: I have the spark of a Goddess inside of me.
I am a woman, as beautiful as can be.
I care not how others feel, I know that my beauty is for real.
Thank you, Freya, for making me fair From my bright eyes to glittering hair.
Thank you Freya for sharing your light And for allowing me to shine brightly this night.
It obviously isn't the best "spell" in the world, but it works when needed.
I don't care what you look like, or how you feel about yourself, if you can remember the spark inside of you that connects you with the Goddess, you will shine as the beautiful woman you were meant to be.
