    • 1). Lower the deck to its lowest butting position by moving the attachment lift lever, which is located to the left of the driver's seat, all the way forward. This will give you ample room to replace the belt.

    • 2). Locate the left mandrel pulley just under the foot rest and above the deck. It has a pancake shape with the center indented and a belt wrapping around the indented section. Pull the belt off of the pulley.

    • 3). Move to the right side of the riding lawn mower and look for the right mandrel pulley. Pull the belt off.

    • 4). Follow the belt as it moves into the center of the mower. It is wrapped around two pulleys in the center called the idler pulleys. Remove the belt from it. The belt should now be hanging on by one pulley that is connected underneath the motor. This pulley is called the engine pulley.

    • 5). Unwrap the belt from around the engine pulley.

    • 6). Grab the new drive belt. Place it around the left mandrel pulley.

    • 7). Move to the right side and feed the belt through the right mandrel pulley.

    • 8). Place it on the inside of the two idler pulleys in the center of the machine.

    • 9). Feed the belt through to the engine pulley and wrap it around the outside of the pulley.
