How to Decorate Walls for a Wedding Reception
- 1). Add panels of curtains to the walls. Attach long curtain rods to the top of the walls. Hang curtain panels in your wedding colors on the rods. As an alternative, gather the curtains together and tie tassels around them for a classic look.
- 2). Hang pictures and portraits of the couple on the wall. Include pictures of the bride and groom during their childhoods. Add pictures of the couple's family members and bridal party members. Your bridal party will appreciate the tribute.
- 3). String Christmas lights on the walls vertically. Attach tulle over the lights with a staple gun or thumb tacks. The lights will illuminate behind the fabric to create a nice glow. Gather the tulle and add a decorative bow for another look. For some extra glam, hang tulle swags on the top of the tulle panels.
- 4). Place tall columns directly in front of the walls. Drape tulle over the columns. Swag tulle from one column to the next.
- 5). Attach decorations that match your theme. Add a butterfly net and decorative butterflies for a garden theme. Nail a fish net with seashells and sea stars to the wall. Hang hooks on the wall and string paper lanterns against the wall for an outdoor reception or Asian theme.
- 6). Place large gardening pots against the wall. Place florist foam in each pot. Gather large branches and spray paint them white or in the wedding colors. Add the branches to the pots. The branches should stand upright in the pots. Add colorful lights to the tree. White or blue lights work particularly well. Add tulle over the tree if desired. Make one of the trees a wishing tree in which your guests write a wish for your marriage and hang it on the tree.
- 7). Blow up hundreds of balloons with helium. Attach to double-sided tape or a balloon arch kit. Set the balloon arch against the wall.
- 8). Prop a trellis against the wall. Add decorations of your choice to the trellis. You will not be as limited with your decorations because you can staple, glue, paint or add screws to the trellis. Hang paper lanterns, hanging potted plants, or greenery to the trellis. Stick flower stems through the trellis holes. Add any other decorations that match your theme.
- 9). Attach a projector to the ceiling. Connect it to a laptop. Project a slide show or romantic images against a blank wall. Your family members will love to see pictures of the couple, their love story, and childhood pictures.

Apply personalized decals to the walls. Print a large banner of the couple's names and wedding date. Make a wall hanging with the couple's names in the middle of a heart and hang from a quilt wall hanger.
