Behind every great automobile there is an industrial designer who supplies the innovative thinking and gives it form. To work in a major car studio, taking a course in transportation design is a must. Transportation design is a branch of industrial or product design. While several hundred design schools worldwide have industrial design courses, only about 20 offer courses specializing in transportation or automotive design. - With nearly 16,000 students, the Academy of Art University is the largest private school of art and design in the United States. The objective of the School of Industrial Design is to place students in industry-leading firms by maintaining top professional instruction and providing students with the problem-solving ability and technical skill foundation for success in the field. The program is centered on conceptualization, research and refinement techniques. Faculty encourages students to learn and push the envelope in design.
