      Celebrating the end of the workweek, whether you're having a date or spending time with friends, doesn't have to cost your whole paycheck. Seattle is packed with inexpensive opportunities to hang out, play and have a good time without taking you into the red. Along with these ideas, there are hundreds of public parks and gardens in Seattle with zero to minimal fees, outdoorsy opportunities like kayaking and biking and quirky hidden places like The Pink Door restaurant.

    • The American pastime is a great way to spend a Friday evening during the spring and summer. You won't have a bad seat at Safeco Field where the Mariners play. The view reserve 300 section, from 300 to 325, has terrific views of the downtown Seattle skyline. Cost for the 2010 season for the 300 section is $20 pre-purchase or $22 at the door.

    Frye Art Museum

    • Opened in 1952, the museum houses a permanent collection of late-19th and early 20th century European paintings. It hosts exhibits by renowned artists from around the world which are always changing. The Frye Art Museum is free and Friday hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Green Lake Park

    • Run, jog or walk through Seattle's Green Lake Park. The park is a local favorite and has tennis and basketball courts, fishing and beaches. Spend a relaxing Friday with friends playing soccer in one of the fields. Have a romantic picnic or go boating on the lake.

    Ibiza Dinner Club

    • Spanish-isle themed Ibiza Dinner Club has a weekly Friday night event called "After Work Funk." There is no cover charge to celebrate the end of the week with old school funk, soul and hip-hop from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The club is 21 plus and 2010 menu prices for the event include food items starting at $2, $3.50 drafts and $4 well drinks.
