Today's Game 1 takes place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California and the Kings will be hoping that they can use home ice advantage to get 1-0 up in the series.

The Los Angeles Kings are the big Western Conference powerhouse that is trying to claim a second Cup in three seasons. The New York Rangers are the obvious underdogs that are seeking a first title in 20 years after last appearing in the final in 1994.

They both feature proven veterans. The Rangers have a couple of former champs in ex-Tampa Bay Lightning leaders Brad Richards and Martin St. Louis. The Kings return much of the core that claimed it all in 2012.

The Rangers will be hyped up for today's game though, and don't be shocked if things start at 100 mph in today's game as both teams will be desperate to make an impact in the first period. The Rangers are not the biggest of teams and will not want to get tangled up in a physical game. Their core strength is their speed, so expect them to move quick and get the puck down the ice fast.

The Kings meanwhile seem to love their physical games, and they will not be stepping back from try to get in the Rangers' players faces and trying to make a physical impact on the game.

Both teams have had to fight extremely hard to get to the Stanley Cup Final this year, and neither will want to let the opportunity slip away at this final hurdle.

The New York Rangers have won four of five playoff road games, but face a tough challenge in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final at Los Angeles. After eliminating the Chicago Blackhawks with a thrilling overtime victory in Game 7 of the Western Conference Final, the Kings emerged as minus-170 series price favorites to win their second NHL championship in the last three seasons.

The Kings had to face a seven game series against the Chicago Blackhawks to make it here, and some believe that could leave them slightly more tired of the two teams. Los Angeles have needed all 21 games of their postseason to win through to this final. However, the Rangers haven't really flown through themselves, and needed just one less - 20 games of their possible 21 in the postseason to get through to this final.

The goaltenders are equally capable of stealing games or a series. Henrik Lundqvist is looking to create a legacy with the one thing that has escaped him through his Hall of Fame-worthy career. Jonathan Quick is hoping to rebound from an inconsistent postseason to win the only thing that matters.

They will face the Eastern Conference champion Rangers, who are 3-2 underdogs to claim their first Stanley Cup win since 1994. The Kings, who have enjoyed little rest after taking each of their first three series to seven games, will host Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday. They opened as minus-160 moneyline favorites at most sportsbooks monitored by Odds Shark.

One thing's for sure, neither team will give an inch on the ice tonight.
