Baltimore is Maryland's largest city and is home to an abundance of museums, historical destinations and waterfront sites. After a major loss of businesses and population in the 1960s and 1970s, Baltimore began rebuilding in 1979 to revitalize the city and bring people back to its unique neighborhoods. The city's dynamic attractions make it an ideal location for school field trips. - Bringing a group of students to the Baltimore RESCO teaches children where their household waste ends up and how it is turned into usable energy. The students will tour a portion of the plant to see the waste recycling process. The children are also introduced to a colorful flowchart that represents the recycling system.
