Hi, my name is Porsha Kimble, the cake diva, and today I'm going to show you how to make a simple baby shower cake. To make a simple baby shower cake, you just need a few simple elements. We've actually used an edible image that says baby across the cake just to give it a little color and life and it doesn't take long and you don't have to be a decorating pro to do it. So let's say we want to liven it up and just add a little color. What we have here are a few different colors dots. They can be made in butter cream, royal icing, or what we've done here is actually cut fondant. So if you don't have a freshly butter cream cake and the dots won't stick, simply just use some water, add it to the back of your dot and then stick it and add it to the cake. When you're making the dots for your cake, make sure that you cut them while the fondant is fresh or while your butter cream is a pretty good consistency because if you don't, the actual dots can crack and crumble in your hand and then they'll look dry on your cake. The good thing about making simple baby shower cakes is that you can actually do this at home with your own children. They can cut the dots out, they can place them on the cake and you've done an actual cake together for your new baby that you're welcoming in to your home.
