How to Replace the Line on a TE45 Weed Eater
- 1). Unplug the Weed Eater's power cord from the electrical source. Put the engine side onto the ground while bringing the head up. Take the spool out of the head by firmly pulling on the tap button in the center of the head.
- 2). Pull the spool out and pick off any remaining cutting line with your fingers. Wipe the spool and head clean with the rag while looking for cracks and other signs of damage. Replace any cracked spools or broken heads.
- 3). Unwind 30 feet of the line from the bulk roll and cut it free with the scissors. Locate the small slot hole on the inside of the spool. Push ½ inch of the line into this hole. Hold the line down with your thumb.
- 4). Wind the line around the spool following the arrow on the spool. Wind tight, even rows with the line, ensuring the line doesn't overlap and crisscross itself. Leave 5 inches unwound and push that portion into the slot on the upper side of the spool.
- 5). Insert the line through the access hole on the head cover. Turn the spool upside down, align the holding notch with the hole and push the spool down against the head. Push until you hear it click into place. Lift the line out of the holding slot to begin trimming.
