The church is the first Anglican church in Mumbai and it was established in 1718. There are quite a few stained glass windows with paintings of Lord Jesus and Virgin Mary.
Afghan Church, Navy Nagar This church is also known as theChurch of St. John, the Evangelist. The church was built was the British to commemorate the death of people who died in the first Afghan War in 1838. Besides the British soldiers it also commemorates the death of soldiers in various Indian regiments such as Madras Army and the Bombay Army. This church has excellent architecture and a big capacity.
