How to Get Rid of Weeds in Pastures & Lawns
- 1). Walk through the grass and plants, marking the weed areas with orange traffic cones. Mark even the smallest of patches, because what is a small spot today may overrun real plant life in a month.
- 2). Mix a 2,4-D herbicide concentrate according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- 3). Fill a hose-end sprayer with the herbicide. Attach the container with the herbicide to a garden hose. Test the spray to ensure it has a medium flow. Spray all affected areas thoroughly, using an even, back-and-forth motion. Remove the traffic cones as you go.
- 4). Mow the lawn or pasture in a regular pattern at least twice a month. Inspect for new trouble spots as you mow, and take care of new weed growth immediately to prevent the growth of new weed patches.
