      Whitehouse and Whitehouse Station are small adjacent communities in the Readington Township of New Jersey whose names are often interchanged with each other. They settled nearly 300 years ago. They are closely linked with the history of the railroad industry in New Jersey and are often referred to as the same place. The New Jersey transit line runs through the communities utilizing a centuries-old railroad infrastructure that helped spawn their development. The area contains many notable restaurants.

    Readington Diner

    • Readington Diner offers a wide selection of traditional American cuisine in a bright and lively setting with lots of natural light. Its entrees include roast turkey, roast chicken, meat loaf, roast beef, and steaks and Italian cuisine. Greek food is also served. A large selection of breakfast and dessert items helps round out the menu. The restaurant aims to be a friendly experience, offering "quality service with a smile." Located near the old Whitehouse Station.

    Domo 7

    • Domo 7 is a Japanese restaurant serving traditional sushi and teriyaki dishes in addition to modern variations. Noodle soups, tempura and bento boxes are served. Some memorable rolls include the "Futo maki," assorted vegetables with tamago and kani. Spicy scallops are also available as a hand roll. The chef's specialty items include complex hand rolls and fish combinations to please guests with an adventurous appetite.

    The Junction

    • The Junction is located in an old 19th century hotel that was built to house railroad employees. The wide plank floor and stone walls are a throwback to another era. The restaurant is decorated in a country style. The Junction provides two large televisions at the bar and happy hour specials from Tuesdays to Fridays. A selection of burgers, buffalo burgers and turkey burgers is available. Homemade desserts are also served. The owners aim to keep the restaurant open, airy and casual. It is a good place to bring friends for cocktails and casual dining.
