How to Get Rust Off of Skin
- 1). Place 2 tablespoons of salt in a bowl.
- 2). Juice a lemon. Pour the lemon juice in the bowl, and mix it with the salt. Use just enough lemon juice to get a paste-like consistency. You can also use vinegar, as an alternative.
- 3). Apply the mixture to the rust stain on your skin. Massage the area with your fingertips for three minutes. Add light pressure to thoroughly scrub the skin. The salt exfoliates the skin, removing the dead surface layer, while the lemon juice's citric acid removes the rust stain. Acetic acid in vinegar has a similar affect as the lemon juice.
- 4). Rinse the salt mixture from your hands with warm water, and dry your hands with a towel. If the stain persists, repeat the process.
